International Society for Ethics and Information Technology

Organization founded in 2000. Mission: promoting and facilitating scholarship, education, discussion, and debate, and other activities, on the ethical issues in and surrounded by information technology. The Society will be distinctly devoted to normative issues and will address ethical issues in and surrounding:

  • The design and development of IT
  • The use and deployment of IT
  • Distribution of IT
  • Impact and implications of IT
  • The social and political institutions arising around IT

The CEPE (Computer Ethics Philosophical Enquiry) conference series is recognized as one of the premier international events on computer and information ethics attended by delegates from all over the world. Conferences are held about every 24 months, alternating between Europe and the United States. INSEIT is the main organizer/sponsor of the CEPE series. INSEIT’s institutional support comes from the Ionian University – IHRC research team.
